From mist-covered mountains and historic villages to live music, outdoor adventures and family attractions, Aseer Season 2026 brings a full summer programme to one of Saudi Arabia’s most distinctive regions. Running from 24 June to 31 August 2026, the season takes place across Aseer, with many of its main attractions located in and around Abha. Individual experiences may follow different schedules, so visitors should confirm the operating dates and booking requirements of each attraction before travelling.
What Is Aseer Season?
Aseer Season is a regional summer programme that combines entertainment with the natural and cultural character of the Aseer region. Rather than being held inside one festival site, its activities are distributed across mountain destinations, cultural spaces, farms, villages and entertainment venues.
The 2026 programme was launched with the goal of attracting more than three million visitors. It includes 122 events and more than 100 bookable experiences, covering culture, entertainment, food, nature, sport and adventure.
Why Visit Aseer During Summer?
Located in southwestern Saudi Arabia, Aseer is known for a landscape that differs significantly from much of the country. The region combines high mountains, valleys, agricultural areas and a 140-kilometre coastline along the Red Sea. It is also home to the Kingdom’s 12 highest mountain peaks, including Jabal Sawda, which rises approximately 3,015 metres above sea level.
Its elevation gives parts of the region a relatively mild summer climate. Temperatures in Aseer during August generally do not exceed 24°C, although conditions vary considerably between the mountains, valleys and coastal areas. Rain and fog are also common in the highlands. These conditions make the Asir region a popular summer escape, particularly for visitors travelling from warmer cities elsewhere in Saudi Arabia.
Major Aseer Season 2026 Experiences
1) Europe Village at Art Street
Running from 21 June to 31 July, Europe Village transforms Abha’s Art Street into a European-inspired entertainment destination. The experience brings together architecture, cafés, restaurants, performances and family activities in a walkable setting. It is designed as an evening destination where visitors can dine, explore and enjoy the atmosphere rather than attend one scheduled performance.
2) Dakah in Abha
Running from 21 July to 31 August, Dakah is a mountain entertainment destination combining live music, fashion, dining and social experiences. Its main stage hosts concerts and musical performances in an open-view setting, while the Fashion Zone presents selected designers and contemporary brands. Visitors can also explore curated cafés and restaurants, relaxed social spaces at Dakat Almatal, rotating brand pop-ups and a dedicated daycare area where children can enjoy supervised activities.
3) Sound of Abha Fest
Running from 21 to 31 July 2026 at Al Ghadeer Al Mahala, Sound of Abha Fest is an open-air summer destination combining live performances, music, cultural activities, food, shopping and family entertainment. The festival includes the Kashta Zone, Sawaleef Al Hay, interactive games, a haunted house, children’s attractions and retail markets. Visitors can also watch FIFA World Cup matches through dedicated fan screenings, making it a lively gathering place during Aseer’s summer season.
4) Sammrah
Sammrah Plato is a hilltop summer destination operating from 15 May to 31 August, generally from 4:00 p.m. until 2:00 a.m. The venue combines scenery, dining and entertainment, making it particularly suitable for evening visits.
5) Kashtah
Running from 27 June to 31 August 2026 at Al-Hadabah Park in Abha, Kashtah recreates the atmosphere of a traditional Saudi outdoor gathering in a family-friendly mountain setting. The event brings together nature, adventure and relaxation, allowing visitors to enjoy Aseer’s cooler evenings, scenic surroundings and activities for different age groups. It is suitable for families, groups and anyone looking to spend time outdoors during the summer season.
6) HIGHLANDER Hiking Experiences
Aseer Season also includes multi-day outdoor programmes for experienced hikers. HIGHLANDER Orion covers approximately 40 kilometres over two days, including one night at camp. HIGHLANDER Pegasus is a three-day, 60-kilometre journey with two nights in nature.
These are physically demanding experiences and should not be treated as casual sightseeing trips. Participants need to review the organiser’s fitness, equipment and safety requirements before registering.
Culture and Heritage in Aseer
Aseer Season also gives visitors an opportunity to explore the region beyond its temporary entertainment programme. The Asir region has thousands of historic villages, including Al-Muftaha in Abha and Rijal Almaa, located approximately 45 kilometres west of the city. Rijal Almaa is known for its tall stone palaces, white quartz detailing and interiors decorated with Al-Qatt Al-Asiri.
Al-Qatt Al-Asiri is a traditional interior wall-art form associated with women in the region and is recognised by UNESCO as intangible cultural heritage. Its geometric patterns and strong colours remain an important part of Aseer’s visual identity. Visitors can also explore local markets, regional food, traditional architecture and agricultural experiences throughout the season.
